The registration will be on Sunday 31st August. The scientific programme starts on Monday 1st and ends on Friday 12th September. All participants are expected to arrive on Sunday 31st August and leave on Friday 12th September.
The lecturers have been chosen as such to cover all the recent research activities in the synthesis of smart materials via these four processes. In addition to details of the lecturer’s latest research findings, the lectures will include an element of advanced teaching. The teaching-style lectures will be clear and very informative. Each lecturer will give two lectures, each 60 minutes, and each will be followed by 15 minutes question time. This approach is designed to allow maximum interactions between the lecturers and the students which we believe it is crucial for the success of the ASI.
It is anticipated that the ASI will be very popular and there will be a lot of requests by the young scientists for presenting orals and posters on their latest research in these fields. Therefore, times have also been allocated for 4 most promising young academics to give four talks (each, 50 minutes) followed by 10 minutes for questions. Moreover, there will be two poster sessions and each will be accompanied with a reception with a generous supply of wine, beer and soft drinks, hopefully sponsored by industry. The receptions are intended to create an informal and relaxed ambiance for maximum scientific discussions between the lecturers and the students.
